Meet the Physicians and Physician Assistants of DPSC

A trusted clinical team with experience, expertise, and compassion

The physicians at DPSC are all board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases. They are all Fellows of the American College of Chest Physicians. Some members of the group have additional board certifications in Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. They are all active members of the medical staffs at Banner Desert Medical Center, Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital.
Our physician assistants are all certified and maintain their certification through rigorous ongoing continuing medical education.
Specialty – Chest Diseases
Dr. Slobig completed his medical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary disease at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in 1990. He has been practicing pulmonary medicine in the East Valley since then, having been the longterm Medical Director of Respiratory Care at Banner Desert Medical Center. He has achieved board certification in internal medicine and pulmonary disease. Dr. Slobig focuses his practice primarily on the evaluation and treatment of pulmonary disease.

Dr. Gill completed medical school at Dayanand Medical College in India. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Grant Hospital of Chicago (Rush University) in Chicago, Illinois followed by a dual fellowship in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Tufts University School of Medicine) in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Gill joined Desert Pulmonary Consultants in 1997 and practices both pulmonary and sleep medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Banner Baywood Sleep Center and has served as the Chairman of the Respiratory Care Committee at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. Dr. Gill sees both pulmonary and sleep disorder patients. He has been named a Phoenix Magazine Top Doc in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Dr. Bohan completed medical school at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and completed both her internal medicine residency and fellowship in pulmonary disease at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She joined Desert Pulmonary Consultants in 2000. She is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease. Her practice focuses on treatment of pulmonary disease.

Dr. Ahmed completed medical school at Gandhi Medical College at Osmania University in India. He completed his residency training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry-Internal Medicine residency program in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Ahmed then completed a fellowship specializing in pulmonary medicine at Brookdale University Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and a fellowship specializing in critical care medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He joined Desert Pulmonary & Sleep Consultants in 2002. Dr. Ahmed has served as Chairman of Medicine at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, and is an adjunct professor of medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. His practice encompasses all aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary and sleep disorders. In addition, he is the Medical Director of Valley Sleep Center in Mesa and Chandler.
Kevin Main, PA-C is a former Gilbert resident who returned to the East Valley upon completion of his education at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He received training in internal medicine as well as completing his Master’s thesis in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Kevin provides care in the treatment of pulmonary diseases as well as sleep disorders. His expertise includes evaluation and management of sleep apnea in transportation workers. He is a member of the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants. Kevin enjoys spending his free time running, hiking and playing tennis.
Chris grew up in Denver, Colorado and has lived in Arizona for over 20 years. He worked as an engineer before deciding to pursue a more meaningful and satisfying career as a Physician Assistant (PA). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Master of Computer Science degree from Arizona State University in Tempe. Chris received his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Mesa, where he completed intensive training in family medicine, women’s health, internal medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, general surgery, psychiatry, and cardiology before graduating in 2015. Chris is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants. He joined Desert Pulmonary and Sleep Consultants in 2016 and sees both pulmonary and sleep patients.
Mary was born and raised in Gilbert, AZ. She attended St Cloud State University in MN, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and played college soccer. Then, she completed a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Harding University in Searcy, AR. After graduation, she practiced primary care medicine in Gilbert, AZ for 2 years. She now practices both pulmonary and sleep medicine. Her passions are outdoor activities such as hiking, running, camping, kayaking, and fishing.
